Each school has its own admission policy which is set in line with Hampshire County Council’s policy and timetable. Our admissions policy can be found on our policy page.
My child is starts school in September 2022
There are set dates for making an application so that your child can join us in September 2022. Applications open on 1 November 2021 and close at Midnight on Saturday 15th January 2022. The national notification date for on-time applicants is 16 April 2021.
The County Council will consider first all those applications received by the published deadline of midnight on Saturday 15 January 2022. Notifications to parents offering a primary or infant school place will be sent by the County Council on 19 April 2022. Applications made after midnight on 15 January 2022 will be considered after all on-time applications have been fully processed unless exceptional circumstances merit consideration alongside on-time applications. For the normal admission round, all on time preferences will be considered simultaneously and ranked in accordance with the admission criteria. If more than one school can offer a place, the parent’s highest stated available preference will be allocated.

Arriving from another Hampshire school
If your child is transferring from another Hampshire school, this is called in-year applications. In this instance, you can apply to join our school in two ways.

2. You can request a paper copy of the application form from our office, and return to us directly. We will be able to confirm your place almost immediately
You can apply for an in-year place up to four weeks before the place is needed.
Exceptionally, parents seeking an in-year place starting in September 2022 can apply from 1 May 2022. These applications will be considered from 13 June 2022.
I wish my child to join Vernham Dean Primary from outside Hampshire
If this is the case, you will need to contact your current Local Authority Admissions team in the county you live in. They will help you go through the process and give you advice about transferring.
